The Icom IC-229A is a 2 meter FM mobile transceiver providing 25 watts of power. There is also a setting for 10, 5 or 1 watts output when less power is needed. The LCD display is easy to read. This radio has 20 memories and priority watch. It also has programmed scanning or memory scanning. This radio requires 13.8 V DC at 6.0 amps. Includes hand mic and OPC-044B power cable.

The ICOM IC-229H is the same as the IC-229A, but transmits with 50/25/10/5 watts and requires 10 Amps.
