Nice receiver for its day and still fun today.

A friend of my Bro-in-law gave one of these rigs to him, and my Bro-in-law wanted me to tune and tweak it up. If I had to guess, around 1960 for this rig. The lay out of the front panel is nice and straight forward. One big gripe (And I've heard this a lot about the Hammerlunds.), is the drift factor. After 30min, it's pretty usable on 160M - 40M. Allow for 60min of ON time for the higher bands, and even then you'll experience drift on 10M and 6M. AM is doable, but this rig shines more on SSB and CW. And when properly tuned up, it has some good ears on it. Out of band, this rig is not really for that for monitoring SWL and utility stations. (Sure, most likely you can internally tune there, but you'd have to go back in and retune for HAM.) The rear has the settings for the clock and "S" meter calibration. If you happen to come across one of these rigs for about $100.00, or less, worth having if not too much work needs to be involved. Mostly, it's electrolytic CAP's and tube replacements. One thing is for sure, I had fun checking this receiver out.
