Good, compact little radio.

Mike

I bought my UV1DP about 10 years ago when they first came on the market here in New Zealand.
As others have said, unless you have the programming disc and interface cable, forget trying to program this radio from the front panel, you will end up tearing your hair out and possibly also throwing the radio out the window.
However, this radio does everything it's meant to and at quite a good price and replacement batteries aren't too hard on the pocket-book either.
In saying this, the buttons on the front panel can be quite "hit and miss" if you don't have small fingers.

Great little radio, it's virtually impossible to program from the keypad, so get the programming software and cable from the manufacturer. Very inexpensive, prompt delivery from Hong Kong, spare batteries are reasonable.

The programming disk is a mini and should be a full size disk in something other than rar.format. It the frequencies have to be entered by hand along with the ctcss, split, and shift. Takes a while and a calculator.
