Yaesu FT-840 reviews

Hi, I can not use CW traffic.

I have owned my 840 since its last year of production and it has never needed a repair as of March of 2017! I primarily use it for cw and have the 500 hz filter installed and the filter for AM phone.The only feature I wish it had was vox but being a cw op primarily no big deal. I don't miss a keyer as I only use bugs and straight keys. I consider the receiver section to be quite good and I also use it for swling.A nice dependable little rig. I constantly get positive comments on the xmit audio on both am and ssb with the MD 100 mike.

I've had mine since Dec 2011. I use it daily. Simple but affective. Solidly built for both mobile and base station use. The receive audio is excellent. Good reports on my transmit audio using a MC-50 microphone. I have an external DSP (Timewave DSP-9+) for use during contests. Very good rig for about $400.00 used.

Hard to beat this rig. It is short on features but it does everything it was designed to do very well.
