The Gonset GR-212 is a desktop receiver with a range 550kHz - 30MHz and (pre-WARC) band-spread on 80-10 meters. Quite rare these days.
The GR-212 has phenolic circuit-boards with several rectangular power resistors mounted flat on the boards. Despite the excellent ventilation afforded by the perforated metal cabinet, over time heat discolored the board beneath the resistors. The sensitivity from 14 MHz up was low. This is typical
of this grade and vintage of receiver. An outboard RF preamp helps noticeably. The BFO can be moved to achieve single signal reception.
