Icom IC-24AT Excellent HT

Halsky

I just purchased an old Icom IC24AT from a ham and I have never seen such an older radio that looks as if it was made yesterday. Not a spot or blemish anywhere. This radio is NEW looking and performance wise. It came with an Icom HM-54 speaker mic and what looks to be a new dual band antenna. The radio is flawless. A very oldie and a goodie. I will hang onto it. Does anyone know if they make a 12vdc Ni-Mh battery for this radio. Batteries America doesn't seem to have one. Thanks, Halsky

IC-24AT Crossband Repeater Function and etc.

N2OBS

This radio is the only transceiver and held held unit that has the cross band feature. If there are others please let me know as i have found no other transceivers that have this feature and in a hand held. The receiver is very broad from about 300 KHz up to 1300 MHz which there is no skips in frequency. Included is the cellular frequency band which in other handhelds after a certain time any handhelds do not allow the listening to the cellular frequencies. Which have gone mostly to digital mode on fm and cannot be decoded with the average analog/digital scanner. I have enjoyed this transceiver enough to collect a second which is a rare find these days. Thankfully there are batteries for this transceiver from W & W Associates or a similar company that makes amateur radio battery packs. 73 de N2OBS
