ICOM IC-756 Pro III reviews

Brilliant!

K1VI

Bought new in 2007, paired with KW linear and a simple G5RV, in casual DX'ing I have gone from just-barely DXCC, to 5-band DXCC, and closing in on a 6th band (17 mtrs). It just plain excels. Working with Ham Radio Deluxe, it's a blast!

PRO III

Good sensitivity but in contests requires inrad or other xrystal filters, otherwise neighboring stations are blocking and disturbing. I think newer rigs has solved this problem. For nomal qsos very good rig.
CW speed nobe is absolubly too small.

Fantastic Transceiver

rgarth

One of the great work horses from the Icom Stable. The 756 ProIII combines all the excellence of the previous 756 models into a gorgeous package with every bell and whistle a Ham could ask for. In the Tx mode the audio is pure Icom with the traditional rich full sounding transmission which is fully adjustable from the Rig including BW and tone.
The Receiver is very competent, with adjustable filters and two levels of PreAmp.
There is a wealth of info on the Pro3 to be found on the Net but I can tell you that if your upgrading from an older model Radio you will really be pleased with this Rig and it's Fantastic Bandscope plus dual receive.
