Best Damn Rig!

RICHL

I purchased this rig in 1965 used from DeMambro Radio in Boston for $100. Kept it until April, 1969 when I traded it towards a Hammarlund HQ-215 receiver. The Valiant was positively unbelievable in both AM and CW. I had a modest antenna system at my QTH in the Boston area (dipoles and a homebrew vertical). Operated almost 100% cw. Worked anything I could hear with fantastic signal reports. I even had this rig at my first apartment in Waltham, MA where i had an indoor antenna system tuning modified curtain rods, etc. Worked a helluva lot of DX with this crazy set up. If you have the opportunity to find one of these - by all means get it. Best damn boat anchor I ever owned other than my Hallicrafters SX-101A. 73 to all - W2FKN
