Fun 6 meter pack

I have several 351/2 sets and enjoy them. If you are looking for a simple and plain 6 meter FM set for search and rescue, Civil Defense or just for fun this is it. The SURF unit is a nice feature to add, but I have measured roughly 3/4 to 1 Watt loss with it which was expected. Just remember that the radio supports a 150 Hz tone squelch which can be disabled via the Remote Operation Switch, which seems to get some people thinking that their radio doesn't work. One mod that I did was to turn down the RX audio which was a little too loud for me, even on the whisper setting. I rated this radio based on what it is and was designed to do and NOT based on what it doesn't do or compared to a modern transceiver. The price is about $50 for the base PRC-351 with no ancillaries and up. My PRC-352M was about $150 minus shipping with a NOS pack frame and the radio was in outstanding shape.
