A pleasure to use

Very good build old school rig. Does not have a lot of gadgets compared to modern rigs but you can use this rig for hours and hours without getting tired. The sound of most modern DSP rigs often is noisy and with artefact's. This rig is smooth to the ear like listening to a vinyl record . I often use it to monitor a band and just have it running in the background with sometimes voices coming up. Remember SSB is not FM there should be no noise. This rig sounds like a little Italian town square on summer evenings, HAM-heaven.
Audio reports are excellent with a standard hand mic and there is a proc. (Pull)
You will have to tune the tubes but it will only take a few seconds.
You can run from external 13.8 Volt but with the internal power supply there is no need for that.
This rig is not good for contesting unless you stay on one frequency.
Prices for this rig are going up for the last 15 years. I will never sell mine.
If you spot one try it out and surf the bands a little, you will enjoy it.
This rig is different, it is really good.

My first HF rig...1976

This rig is a very nice rig to "get into the hobby with"
Today you find them on local fleemarkets for around $ 275-300.
This is a good deal, since you also can hook a 2m transverter to it, and use it as a Tech.
Had lots of fun with mine :-)
