Great 1st HF rig

ICOM IC-701, Desktop Shortwave Transceiver

This is a great radio for the new General licensee seeking to break into HF and test the waters. These radios are reliable and perform. Using this radio with my hombrewed 10m/6m dipole, I have worked Japan, Lithuania and New Zealand. (Japan and New Zealand repeatedly ... I'm to lazy to get up early to repeat Lithuania.)
