Very simple scanner

Uniden-Bearcat BC60XLT, Handheld VHF/UHF Scanner / receiver

I've had the UBC60 for some months. As a scanner it's very basic. It has only 10 memory channels and the scanning speed of 10 channels/sec isn't much either. Being a Uniden scanner, the UBC60 suffers from the known user flaws: no (easy) way to switch between AM and FM or tuning steps. You're stuck to the schema programmed into the receiver. But I had mine equipped with a discriminator output and hooked up to a laptop. As it is basically always tuned to the same (few) frequencies, the weak points don't really bother me. Also, these rigs can be bought for less than a pint of beer, which makes up for something :)
