Great rig. Purchased it after much research to back up my ic-761 which is having internal power supply issues. I didn't expect to be blown away with the ic-737a. Extremely highly recommend it.
I own an icom ic-761 which is going to replace the internal power supply.. So I purchased the ic-737a as a backup. I absolutely fell in love with it. It's not the big box radio but, it just blew me away.
By the time I connect to a 50 amp Astron power supply and the the Heil ICM microphone and then onto an AL-80B amplifier.
What does it become but a $4,000 rig!

Very easy to read frequency with wide LCD screen ! Just like an IC775.Easy also to transmit and receive with your 737A,no menu, just the necessary !! A goog TRX,complete with elec keyer,AGC,NB,COMP,VOX,RIT;10Hz resolution,LCD Display,Automatic Antenna Tuner,
Automatic antennas switch and perhaps missing by Icom,Monitoring,no ALC and SWR Control !!
No optionnal SSB Filters !!
I think that it is an excellent station with some gaps which the contructor could have avoided!!
