This company was founded as the Anonymous Association Nippon Radio Telegraph Manufacturer in December 1915. They made radios and radio parts and later also moved into microwave and radar equipment.
In 1942 the firm's name was changed to Japan Radio Co., Ltd. These days they are well known for their NRD series receivers.
