The Yaesu FTdx5000 was announced in November 2009. The transceiver features an impressive 112 dB dynamic range and an IP3 (3rd Order Intercept Point) of +40 dBm (CW, 500 Hz). Newly designed roofing filters are selectable between 300 Hz, 600 Hz, 3 kHz, 6 kHz and 15 kHz. DSP features are powered by two 32-bit processors from Texas Instruments (TMS320C6727B) both running at 300 MHz. Each VFO has its own DSP processor. RF output comes from a pair of VRF150 FETS yielding 200 W.
Besides the main display there is a large multi-functional analogue meter (same as in the FTdx-9000) and three sub-displays to indicate sub-frequency, graphical wave and menu functions.
The Station Monitor SM-5000 is optional with the FTdx5000.
