I have had 2 Icoms 7200 i love the radio and it was built like a rock! and worked just perfect! I even put the rack mount handles on mine! Mine never gave me a single bit of trouble! And id buy one again but the Hams are getting greedy and asking too much for them now! I used mine with a SM-30 desk mike and got beautiful audio reports! Now for the bad news! It dosent have FM ???? what happened ICOM????
I would of still had that radio today if it had 10m FM! What a bummer!!! But as i said i still might get one if the price is right! That radio is a work horse! and i loved the design! 73 Joe KA1JFB
My XYL bought me the IC-7200 as a birthday gift a few years back and it was an upgrade from my IC-718, which was my first HF rig.
The 7200 is an excellent choice for the money. Thanks to the dual notch filtering, receive is very good.
I run this radio barefoot to a G5RV and have worked DX all over the world with good reports.
If you are interested in PSK31, I HIGHLY recommend the 7200 because the USB interface makes PSK31 via FLDIGI practically plug-n-play easy.
Great little radio. Works exceptionally well with an iMac connected via USB and running MacLoggerDX.
