The Yaesu FRG-8800 receiver combines the features of Yaesu's previous world famous FRG series with microcomputer technology. Many new features since the Yaesu FRG-7700 have been added such as a large LCD display with 100 Hz frequency display and unique bar graph signal meter. A 21 button keypad is provided for digital frequency entry and programming of the twelve channel internal memory. The scanning memory stores frequency and mode data. The modes of AM, LSB, USB, CW and FM are pushbutton selectable. Selectable AGC rates, noise blanking, and dual tuning rates ensures comfortable operation and easy operation. Two 24 hour clocks provide for the display of local or universal time (UTC) and serve as timers with remote activation. All-mode squelch, tone and attenuator are also featured. The fine tuning control facilitates SSB, CW and RTTY tuning. The rear panel has antenna inputs are available for coaxial or wire input. Additional frequency coverage is available with the addition of the optional FRV-8800 VHF Converter
