The Standard HX851 is a handheld transceiver. It covers 156.050 - 163.275 MHz for reception and 156.025 - 157.425 MHz for transmission with ± 10 p.p.m. frequency stability and 25 kHz tuning steps. The receiver system is a double conversion superheterodyne with IF frequencies of 1st: 47.25 MHz and 2nd: 450 kHz, and image rejection of 70 dB. RF output power is selectable at 1 / 2.5 / 5 / 6 W. Audio output is 700 mW @ 16 ohm for 10% THD. It features 1 memory bank with 48 channels. The HX851 has a 12-channel GPS receiver, DSC Distress, All Ships, Group and Position Polling, submersible JIS-7 / IPX7 rating, one hand operation, rubber armor on case for sure grip and durability, SOS strobe light, programmable channel names and a large LCD (132 × 64 dots). Dimensions are 142 × 62 × 45 mm. It weighs 335 gr and requires 12 V DC - 1150mAh Lithium-Ion power. Current drain is 330 mA for reception and 1.6 A max for transmission.
