The TYT TH-9800 is a mobile quad-band transceiver. It covers 26-33 / 47-54 / 108-180 / 320-512 / 750-950 MHz in receive and transmits on the 29 / 50 / 144 / 430 MHz bands. The TH-9800 has a frequency stability of ± 5 p.p.m. and offers tuning steps of 2.5 / 5 / 6.25 / 7.5 / 8.33 / 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 25 / 30 / 50 / 100 kHz. It utilizes a double conversion superheterodyne receiver system with 1st IF frequencies of 49.95 / 38.85 kHz and a 2nd IF frequency of 450 kHz. The RF output is selectable at 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 W (UHF: 40 W) with an audio output of 2 W @ 8 Ohm for 5% THD. It features 1 memory bank with 800 channels and requires 13.8V DC.
