The Whistler WS1040 is a handheld scanner/receiver. It covers 29-54 / 108-174 / 216-512 / 764-960 / 1240-1300 MHz (cellular blocked in the US). Tuning steps are selectable from 3.125 to 25 kHz. The receiver system is a triple conversion superheterodyne with IF frequencies of 1st: 380.8 MHz, 2nd: 21.4 MHz and 3rd: 455 kHz. It features 1 memory bank with 1800 channels. Audio output is 250 mW. The WS1040 supports trunking (Motorola I/II/III, EDACS, LTR), has a spectrum sweeper, weather channels, USB interface and CTCSS/PL. Dimensions are 145 × 65 × 42 mm. It weighs 240 gr without antenna and batteries.
