The Whistler WS1080 is a handheld scanner/receiver. It covers 29-54 / 108-174 / 216-512 / 764-960 / 1240-1300 MHz (cellular blocked in the US). Tuning steps are selectable from 3.125, 5, 6.25, 7.5, 8.33, 10 and 12.5 kHz. The receiver system is a triple conversion superheterodyne with IF frequencies of 1st: 380.8 MHz, 2nd: 21.4 MHz and 3rd: 455 kHz. It features object oriented memory, trunking for Motorola I/II/III, EDACS, LTR, SAME/FIPS weather alert, spectrum sweeper, weather channels, USB interface, CTCSS/PL + DCS, microSD card, discriminator output and audio recorder. Audio output is 500 mW. The WS1080 has 200 memory banks and 10000 memory channels. It weighs 210 gr (without antenna and batteries) and draws 170 mA in receive mode. Dimensions are 135 × 67 × 28 mm.
