This set is probably the best one around when it comes to listening to strong shortwave and mediumwave stations. It is sensitive, capable of handling strong stations and straightforward to use. And the audio is superior! Good FM performance, too. I bought mine in the eighties and it still works OK.
However, it uses LC filters rather that ceramic ditto so the selectivity is inadequate for serious DX-ing, albeit the three selectable bandwidths.
By today's means, considering it as a portable is a silly joke, big and heavy as it is.
Reasonably priced in Europe, but overpriced in the US.
