The Hallicrafters SX-28 shortwave receiver uses 15 vacuum tubes. Features include AVC (Automatic Volume Control), Noise Limiter, Bandspread, Push-Pull audio output and 'high fidelity' audio quality. Around 50,000 SX-28's and SX-28A's have been built between 1940 and 1946.

Allegedly, former U.S. president Harry, S. Truman had an SX-28 behind his desk in the Oval Office.
