ICOM IC-2800H reviews

Had so many dual band radios in the past,this display beats them all,plus the video input if I need it.My only complaint is that I can’t get it to do the extended receive it says it will do.Only one mod. Listed,anyone else have the same problem?Did the mod.but won’t receive the 220 mhz. Band. I currently own two of this model. W4ebx

I love my 2800H. I wish all modern dual band radios had as nice of a display as this one. Icom hit it out of the park, when they put this display on this radio. They should return to this display, for modern radios.

Pros:
1-Best Display ever!
2-Solid performer, works as it should, every time
3-Wide receive range
4-Easily MARS modifiable
5-Available with a WIRELESS remote microphone
6-Very intuitive programming
7-Programming software is available, I have it, but have never used it, as the radio is EASY to program
8-Built in speakers in the control head work very well

Cons:
1-Wired mic can be a bit fragile
2-Will not do V/V or U/U, wil do VHF on left VFO, and UHF on right VFO, ONLY!
3-Wired mic will only plug in to the radio body, not the head
4-Difficult to get it to crossband duplex
5-"Only" 100 memories (plus band edges)
