I must say that the NCX-3 is one among my favorites alongwith the Drake TR-3 and Yaesu FTdx-560. First of all for the fact that it is an all-tube rig, secondly for the early 60's cabinet design. I had to substitute the two 6GJ5A final tubes with 2 RCA's NOS since they put out only 50W (now 100W at 300mA plate current).
The receiver is nice and plenty of audio. Easy to operate (CW in my case...) but it lacks of a CW sidetone like my Drake TR-3...
Both my NCX-3 and NCX3-A power supply were bought complete, working and in a very nice electrical, mechanical and fisical condition. No traces of rust etc. meaning that the owner(s) kept them in a safe, clean environment.
This is not a rare rig because many of them were sold in the early 60's but, should you want to have one, search for a good or mint one and you will not be disappointed. Alex, HB9DTA
