The Yupiteru I own is the MK2 model with the Bander M3.5 mod.

This receiver is good, but is some ways not as good as his older brother, the MVT-7100/7200.

The 9000 is sensitive ( VHF/UHF ) but not that sensitive as the 7100, sometimes this can be an advantage.
But in use this means also that the 9000 is less sensitive for overloading and distorsion.

Like the 7100, the 9000 is capable of receiving SSB signals, and for as far as I know, the 9000mk2 is de best portable wideband receiver for HF listening in the world of scanners.
This was made possible because Yupiteru uses the high-end Murata CFJ455K5 2.4kHz filter, which was also used in AOR HF-receivers.

What can I say, this is one of the very best portable wideband receiver ever made.
Build quality is very good.
Audio is good, but not as good as the 7100.
Very good and bright LCD display.

Some things I don't like.

Eats batteries.
Build in charge circuit is only for NICD batteries, not for NIMH.
No computer control.
Stock antenna is a joke, which has to be replaced by something from the Diamond factory.

My Yupiteru MVT-9000mk2 is a Bandercom M3.5 version.

I'm very pleased about this unit, it's sensitive, altough it's less sensitive then it's older brother the MVT-7100.
But in some cases i'll like the 9000 above the 7100.
Better casing, much less birdies, better selectivity, better hf reception ( not as good as a Sony 7600gr for example ).
