3 band, low cost transceiver. Predecessor to the Galaxy III and Galaxy V.
Additional info greatly appreciated!
Actually all Galaxies are sleepers. A new sideband crystal ---#$31 shipped from quartslab---and a recapping was all that was needed to bring it to life. I recap them just as a matter of routine. Dial was still within 2kc. Minor realignment. Ok, how does it play? The receiver is really hot, selectivity is 2.1 kc but doesn't sound narrow. Smooth dial and about 180 watts out and doesn't drift at all after about 15 minutes. I get good audio reports and it is very pleasant and easy to use. If you are lucky enough to find one you'll have a lot of fun with it. One more thing, the underneath is about the neatest and most well thought out wiring and layout I've ever seen. Very easy to work on. 73
