I have owned this Amp for a little over a year and I have done over 2000 DX contacts with it, from South America to Australia, Antartica, Mongolia and even India.
The 1.2KFX has never skipped a beat, it has protection circuitry that seems to be almost fool proof, it detects High SWR and other faults so quickly it boggles the mind. Another great plus is the fantastic look of these Amps, they are like the finest Mercede Benze in detail and performance, the inside of the Amp is clean and neat, everything placed perfectly.
Performance wise I can easily get 750 watts out of it, I leave mine at about 800 watts, but I can get up to 1KW out of it but I don't recommend you drive it that Hard, lest you burn out something. This Amp uses the same PA board that is in the 1.5KFx, so the FETS are designed to go up to 1200 watts, the only limitation is the internal power supply and how good is your houses 220V.
I have yet to meet a 1.2KFX owner that was unhappy, the only Caveat to this and all solid state amps is that you must have neat proper wiring that produces little or no RF. Solid state Amps do not work well if high RF is floating around, so make sure you have good grounding, numerous chokes and a SWR that is below 1.5:1 or else Solid state can become trouble some. My shack met all these requirements and so should yours if you have it set up right.
