I looked all over Amazon, E-bay, Walmart and even outside on the open ‘net. What I wanted, wasn’t what I got, I made some comprimise in order to get my first “base station” ham radio. I want one that won’t wear out my interest, will provide some challenges, match my new hamster status, yet not be an avalanchče overwhelming my abilities.
I was not settled on quad band, because often those quad bands might not interest me. What I did NOT get with this machine is 1.25Meters, “220 Band.”. For that I’ll rely on my UV5RX3.
What I DID get is a very good price, great warranty and very reputable dealer. $199.00. + 18 month dealer warranty, along with the mfg’s 12 month warranty. Dealer is Radioddity, here in the ??US of A ??. Radioddity is a stand up electronics and consumer HAM, GMRS, etc radio dealer + support.
