The AOR AR-8600 is a mobile HF/VHF/UHF scanner / receiver. It covers 0.53-2040 MHz (will tune down to 100 kHz - cellular blocked in the US). The receiver system is triple conversion superheterodyne with IF frequencies of 1st: 754.850 or 243.850 MHz, 2nd: 45.05 MHz, and 3rd: 455 kHz. It features 20 memory banks and 1000 memory channels. The audio output is 800 mW (8 Ohms) max @ 10% THD. The power requirements are 10.8-16V DC with a typical current drain of 400 mA in receive mode and 40 mA in standby. The AR-8600 weighs 2 kg (MW bar aerial included). Dimensions are 57 × 155 × 195 mm. It has an RS232 port and built-in ferrite bar for MW reception. Slot card options include speech descrambler, extra memory channels, tone eliminator and more.
