The Hammarlund HQ-180A general coverage receiver tunes from 540 to 30000 kHz in six ranges: .54-1.05, 1.05-2.05, 2.05-4.04, 4-7.85, 7.85-15.35 and 15.35-30 MHz. The amateur bands are all bandspread: 3.44-4.04, 6.81-7.3, 13.98-14.425, 20.925-21.6 and 27.89-29.7 MHz. Following on the success of the original HQ-180, the HQ-180A adds: improved mechanical and electrical stability, tunable BFO for CW or fixed BFO for optimum SSB, silicon rectifiers, accessory power supply and 115/230 VAC 50/60 Hz operation. Other enhancements include: antenna trimmer, noise limiter, RF gain, S-meter, stand-by and AVC on/off. This radio does not have a built-in speaker.
