Heathkit HW-5400, Desktop Shortwave Transceiver

I bought my rig in 1985 I think it was. Built it and use it. Still have it. Never have had a problem with it, but the vco's appear to need adjusting. Most all the parts are or were standard except for the main cpu chip. If that is bad, you will be in trouble.

One note to be careful of are the tuning slugs. You cannot push down with the wand with a great amount of pressure, the slug will go right to the bottom! The slots are poorly made and you should shape your wand to that slot and becareful.

These rigs have good audio and will put out full power easy. Does not have 60 meters as they were made before that band.
