The FT-101 was the first HF transceiver to have it all the "options" built in:
-- AC power supply
-- DC power supply
-- Crystal Callibrator
-- Noise Blanker
-- Crystal Frequency Control
-- VOX...
Adding these to a Drake, Swan or other brand could add 350 to 400 dollars to its price.
The original FT-101 is a good rig. It's only shortcoming was the average (for the time) receiver, but even that was OK in under normal conditions.
