The Pace Sidetalk 1000M was designed in Harbor City, where the initial prototypes were also manufactured (about 800 units). Production was then moved to Japan for the first production run of about 15,000 units. The second production run was manufactured in various plants in Japan and Korea. Exact numbers of the 2nd run are unknown, but a great number of units was produced. The final unit was rolled out in April 15, 1976.
