The SEG 15 (SEG = Sende - Empfang Gerät) made by the East German RFT company was intended for both military and marine use. The versatile rig can be used stationary, mobile and portable. It requires 24V DC, but converters for both 12V DC and 110/220V AC were available. A battery compartment which could accommodate 20 different battery types (!) could also be attached to the back. The 12V converter could also be used as a voltage stabilizer for both 12 and 24V.
Tuning is done with 4 decade switches in 1 kHz steps. A clarifier tunes an additional +/- 500 Hz.
The SEG 15 has a connector for a telescopic whip and a 50 ohm BNC for fixed antennas. A built-in antenna tuner works for both receiving and transmitting.
