A prototype of the AOR ARD5000 was first introduced at the 2002 Dayton HamVention. The APCO-25 decoder is a separate box which takes a 10.7 MHz IF feed from a receiver and produces audio and a digital data output. The AOR ARD5000 is targeted at government agencies and the news media.
