Full hf coverage,lf,mf,fm, Ssb, Backlight, Att,memories, tone switch, External sockets for headphones, line out, aerial, 2 aa batteries, Good performance for its size, Clamshell design, Speaker audio a bit tinny
25-1300mhz Easy to use, Modes am/fm No ssb for 10m
25-1300mhz Sound squelch feature ,scanner doesn't stop on silent carriers, Mains adapter built in, Bad point, poor quality controls, volume control became noisy/scratchy after a years careful use.
Wideband receiver Ssb Excellent bandscope Solidly built Neat watching bandscope on hf with long wire.
This one deserves a mention if only for the wide/narrow am filter on air and, switch am filter to wide then listen to strong air signals in glorious am style audio, From what I remember this has full coverage from lf to fm,if you want air and or mid vhf you have to screw on the supplied adapter to the aerial socket, maybe a scruffy afterthought but well worth it for air and audio quality, Also features a bfo for basic hf use, Neat looking as well.
Wideband coverage 500khz-1300mhz Ssb Rf gain Noise blanker Auto noise limiter Backlight Memories Basic bandscope Good quality rotary controls Afc control Performance sensitivity on air and probably better than other leading handhelds, Also switch on afc then scan vhf bands, really neat watching scanner pinpoint active channels, Bad points, scanning speed painfully slow, bandscope range too limited,no signal meter.
Quality Sony product Full hf coverage Ssb Rf gain Basic signal meter Memories Professional looking Mf,lf,fm,air and Scanning facility Only bad points, expensive, red led signal meter a bit basic, mains adapter not built in,rotary tuning control a bit too free wheeling.
