CNET Editors' reviewby: CNET Staff on February 27, 2009 Despite steep learning curves, this program can help users learn and practice the receiving of Morse code signals. NuMorse Professional's plain interface consists of a floating tool bar and pop-up lesson windows; however, novices may be overwhelmed by the multiple lessons and customization options. A few visits to the help files will make the program seem less daunting. NuMorse offers many levels of practice tools, ranging from beginner to advanced. For example, during drills novices can see the corresponding letter when they hear the code but more advanced users have the option of blocking the letter view. Users can customize code drills by adjusting speed, response type, and code properties. Users also can import custom text files. The code tester, which includes a written version and grade results, helps users test their progress. The trial version is fully functional; however, the sound is disabled after one hour of use. Anyone seeking a tutorial in Morse code should take a look at NuMorse.
