I bought mine brand new in 1983 and modified it when the new bands came out, added a couple optional filters and that was the only work I had on it until it quit in 2010 which I had already bought a Kenwood TS-200X. I always received compliments on the audio transmitted. It also worked nice on RTTY. at that time I was using a Commodore 64 for RTTY A good durable rig!
I have two of these fine radios and they do everything I want from them. I do about all cw so I don't need anything fancy, just the 500hz filter. The receiver is very sensitive without being harsh, I can listen to it all day, that's more than I can say about other rigs I own. They will probably outlast me
