556 Argo, 5 watt version fun portable QRP

Ten-Tec Scout (555), Mobile Shortwave Transceiver

First Rig after 40yrs + without a Ham ticket. It is a lot of fun, Modules have to be pulled out and pushed in for each band used , and most you can find have only part of the modules, best to buy one with most obviously. This rig draws very little current so a perfect QRP portable or even a ,"HAM Prepper Rig", for your Go Bag. I enjoy the outdoors so this is a natural for my use , if you are a contester then you need something with a lighter Tune Knob . Love the large Digi readout , the Receiver is Excellent and with the Noise blanker a wonder , i am impressed . I use a OCF wire antenna with a Z Match Emtech Ant. tuner which helps out a lot on 80,40,20,15,10 bands that i have modules for . Enjoy QRP with an Argo 556.
