The PRC-614B was developed by the Israëlly armed forces in the 1970's as the successor of the PRC-604. The 604 was a crystal controlled radio, the 614 is fully synthesized. The 614 was usually used as a handset and carried in a small rucksack. Channel selection is done using 4 thumbwheel buttons. The top of the radio has antenna and headset connectors and a selector switch for ON, OFF, SQ and LITE. PTT and volume controls are on the left side.
S.A.I.T in Belgium built the radio under license as the RT-614B.
