The Yaesu FT-817 is a mobile HF/VHF/UHF transceiver. It covers 0.1-56 / 76-154 / 420-470 MHz (RX) and 10-160 m + WARC / 50-54 / 144-146 / 430-440 MHz (Europe) or 10-160 m + WARC / 50-54 / 144-148 / 440-450 MHz (USA) (TX). It has a frequency stability of 4 p.p.m. from 1 min. to 60 min. after power on and 1 p.p.m./hour at 25°C. Tuning steps are 10 Hz (CW/SSB), 100 Hz (AM/FM). The FT-817 features a double-conversion superheterodyne receiver system with image rejection of 60-70 dB. RF output is 5 W (SSB/CW/FM) and 1.5 W (AM) with 13.8 V external DC, or 2.5 W (SSB/CW/FM) and 0.7 W (AM) with 9.6 V internal DC. Audio output is 1.0 W. It includes 1 memory bank with 200 channels. The FT-817 weighs 1.17 kg and has dimensions of 38 × 135 × 165 mm. Current drain is 250-450 mA (RX) and 2.0 A (TX). Features include CTCSS/DCS, spectrum scope, alpha tags, and 9K6 packet ready.
