Later version of the Sony Air-8. Only difference is the Air band frequency which is increased from 136 to 137 MHz.
The Sony ICF-AIR8 was designed with the aviation enthusiast in mind. This compact receiver receives longwave from 150-529 kHz, AM band from 530-1600 kHz, shortwave from 160-2194 kHz, FM from 76-108 MHz, VHF Public Service from 144-174 MHz and VHF airband from 108-136 MHz. (Note the very limited shortwave coverage on this receiver). Audio output is 400 mW fed into a 7 x 3.5cm speaker. The top of the radio has a jack for earphones. Multiple types of scanning are supported: memory, program, up/down, manual and priority. There is a 9/10 kHz MW step switch in the battery compartment.
