The Yaesu FTdx5000MP was announced in November 2009. The transceiver features an impressive 112 dB dynamic range and an IP3 (3rd Order Intercept Point) of +40 dBm (CW, 500 Hz). Newly designed roofing filters are selectable between 300 Hz, 600 Hz, 3 kHz, 6 kHz and 15 kHz. DSP features are powered by two 32-bit processors from Texas Instruments (TMS320C6727B) both running at 300 MHz. Each VFO has its own DSP processor. RF output comes from a pair of VRF150 FETS yielding 200 W.
Besides the main display there is a large multi-functional analogue meter (same as in the FTdx-9000) and three sub-displays to indicate sub-frequency, graphical wave and menu functions.
The Station Monitor SM-5000 is included with the FTdx5000MP.
i compare the FT DX with a IC7700, Flex 5000, Elecraft K3 and the HPSDR.
Belive me i think it is the best of all the above Trancievers. I tested all for more then a year. Im 100% satisveid wit the Yaesu. The reciever petformance is realy outstanding. I use it mostly in SSB with the both black boxes from W2IHY with a Rhode NT1A Mikro. With the bandwith of around 4 Khz and the flexibility to switch it from 2.4 to 4 Khz i love the rig. It is a real ESSB rig with all what is needed in a shack. I will give it 6 points from five points. hi hi ...
It is the best trx i use until now. I sold my K3 and the Flex and Icom.
I use the LP Pan to see the spectrum. Works great!
